The Journal

Summer, summer, summertime. Time to sit back and unwind! DJ Jazzy Jeff and Fresh Prince said it best. Now, while you are on holiday, take some time to be mindful, grateful and resourceful. Keep a journal of where you go, what you experience, who you meet and what you FEEL. This journal will become a well of wonderful ideas for your admissions essays, and when it comes time to write them, you won't be pressed for time, wishing for divine intervention or having a staring contest with me trying to brainstorm ideas (really stalling because you have none).

Strike while the iron is hot and note anything amazing you experience while you are in the moment. Oftentimes, these notes become the most genuine and authentic expressions of who you are and provide a springboard to showcasing your individuality in the admissions essay.

As always. . . Good job!
